Part 1: The Beginning

In the Broadway play Hamilton, one of Suzy’s and my favorite lines is/was “Look around, look around, at how lucky we are to be alive right now.” Early in 2020 this made perfect sense, but as the pandemic gathered steam, it lost some of its luster. I struggle with the concept now as I have been diagnosed with cancer, but hope the line will have meaning again on the other side of my treatment.

Note: I have been writing this as I have been going along (started September 26th, 2020). With that in mind, I am going to leave it as it was when I wrote it, even though I am late in publishing this.  I apologize for the length of the first posts, but I am in catch-up mode.
